Hang Lung Properties Celebrates HLMA Scientific Committee Member Prof. Hong Wang on Winning the Fields Medal

Hang Lung Properties congratulates Hang Lung Mathematics Awards (HLMA) Scientific Committee member Professor Wang Hong on winning the 2026 Fields Medal, mathematics’ highest honor.  Professor Wang is the first female Chinese national to receive the award, recognized for her breakthrough work in harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory that resolved long-standing mathematical conjectures.

We are proud of Professor Wang’s outstanding achievement and deeply grateful for her contributions to our HLMA Scientific Committee since 2023. Despite her busy academic schedule, she has actively guided and inspired Hong Kong secondary school students to explore mathematics and science. We believe that Professor Wang’s remarkable achievement will inspire Hong Kong’s younger generation to pursue science and mathematics with passion, contributing to the growth of local innovation, and empowering them to integrate into and serve China’s national development in the future.

Founded in 2004, the Hang Lung Mathematics Awards (HLMA), is a highly regarded biennial mathematics research competition for secondary school students in Hong Kong, which aims to encourage students to realize their creative potential in mathematics and sciences.
