HLMA 20th Anniversary Public Talk Series: What is Good Research?

To commemorate 20 years of the Hang Lung Mathematics Awards (HLMA), we are delighted to present a series of public talks under the theme “Shaping our Future”. In collaboration with Asia Society Hong Kong Center, these talks aim to highlight the importance of basic sciences in our rapidly evolving world.

The inaugural event for this series is a panel discussion on "What is Good Research" on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 5pm at Asia Society Hong Kong Center. We are honored to have two esteemed university presidents, Prof. Nancy Ip, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Prof. ZHANG Xiang, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong on the stage in a conversation moderated by Dr. Gerald Chan, Co-Founder of the Morningside group.

Attendees will have the opportunity to behold an engaging dialogue between these prominent personalities as they share their thoughts on the essence of good research. This event aims to inspire and encourage intellectual growth within our community. Admission to this program is free of charge, however, due to limited seating, early registration is encouraged to secure a seat on a first-come, first-served basis.
